About Living in the
Seaport District

This area is popular, for good reason. Not surprisingly, the seaport district of South Boston is located beautifully along the water. The area is designed for easy strolling along the HarborWalk, and there are bars and restaurants for all ages and budgets. The Institute of Contemporary Art is located in this area in a contemporary building with an absolutely stunning deck overlooking the water. In the summer time there are Friday music concerts on the deck of the museum. Nearby, there are many green spaces to enjoy. Seaport is one of the many reasons we love Boston as much as we do!

Seaport Development

Historically an industrial area with warehouses and shipping facilities, the Seaport has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years, transforming into a vibrant mixed-use district with a focus on innovation, technology, and culture.

The Seaport has become a hub for technology and innovation, with many tech companies, startups, and incubators choosing to locate in the area. This has led to the development of collaborative workspaces and a strong entrepreneurial community.

They got us at popovers. These big yummy puffy dough balls are delicious and a great way to start your meal and make you want more! It only gets better from there.

  • Nautilus Boston - has come highly recommend to Devon. We hear its Asian Fusion vibe is tremendous and very appealing. And since it has a sister (and the original Nautilus) restaurant on Nantucket, well, need we say more. You don’t have to board the ferry to experience this Nantucket classic. This is great dining with a stellar wine list and superb menu offerings. Their wine list earned Wine Spectator Acclaim. Nothing left to say except make your reservation now.  Bon appetite.

  • Row 34 - Whenever you look up great Seaport Restaurants...this little ditty always comes up. For you seafood lovers, it’s a must try. Row 34 remains a formidable force in its own austere-industrial-cool kind of way. The place still takes plenty of pride in its eclectic craft beer list, not skimping on categories like wild and sour ales. And chef Jeremy Sewall is still a master of seafood prep, whether he’s dealing with whole roasted fish or little crispy oysters in lettuce cups—a longtime menu favorite.

  • Rosa Mexicano’s Churros - A popular Mexican restaurant offering delicious churros among its menu items.

  • Trillium Brewing - a renowned craft brewery offering a diverse selection of high-quality beers in a stylish taproom setting. This is one of our favorite spots in Boston, both for its locale and its brews! Check out our full article.
